Product & Materials
We created Isla Sunwear to offer sunglasses that truly fit smaller faces. Standard sizes can feel too wide or slip off, so we designed our frames to be about 10% narrower for a secure and comfortable fit. Each pair has a hinge-to-hinge width of 125mm (4.9in), ensuring your sunglasses stay in place and feel just right.
We use acetate and bio-acetate for our frames. Our lenses are made from CR-39.
Acetate is a premium, plant-based material known for its durability, flexibility and rich color depth. Unlike standard plastic frames, acetate is made from renewable materials like wood pulp and cotton fibers, making it an eco-friendlier choice.
CR39 is a lightweight, high-quality optical material known for its clarity and durability.
We prioritize sustainable materials without compromising on quality. Our frames are made from acetate and bio-acetate, a plant-based material that’s a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastics. Our CR-39 lenses are durable and long-lasting, helping reduce waste over time.

Brand
Most sunglasses brands use a one-size-fits-all approach, but that’s exactly the problem. If you’ve ever struggled to find on-trend sunglasses that actually fit your smaller face, we got you. Our frames are designed specifically for smaller sizes, giving you the perfect fit without compromising on style.
Our founder, Quincy, started Isla Sunwear after years of struggling to find sunglasses that truly fit her smaller face. You can read the full story of how Isla Sunwear started here.
We carefully select high-quality materials to make sure your sunglasses feel as good as they look. Our frames are made from acetate and bio-acetate, a plant-based material that’s durable, flexible, and comfortable to wear all day.
For lenses, we use CR-39, a lightweight optical material that offers exceptional clarity and scratch resistance, similar to glass but without the extra weight.
Every pair goes through independent quality control before it reaches us. Once they arrive, we inspect each pair by hand to ensure they meet our standards. No compromises, just well-made sunglasses you can rely on.
Fit & Sizing
All our sunglasses are made about 10% narrower than standard sunglasses, making them a ‘one size fits all’ for smaller faces! If standard size sunglasses usually feel too wide, our sunglasses will generally fit just right.
